Wavves Mixtape Inspired by Zelda

Well, not all of Wavves, but Nathan Williams, the lead of Wavves, and his brother, Kynan. The brotherly duo have gotten together to form “Sweet Valley”, which is responsible for the Zelda inspired mixtape, titled Eternal Champ. Or at least it seems to be inspired by Zelda, however it seems that the readers at Kotaku weren’t able to understand where the Zelda part comes in.

But don’t be fooled. Though the track with the album’s namesake may not appear to contain any Zelda in it, certainly some of the other tracks do, and some more discernibly than others. In fact, the very first track begins with the classic clip-clop of Epona sprinting across Hyrule Field, as from Ocarina of Time. So if mixtapes are of interest to you, hit the jump to listen!

Caution: contains vulgarity.

So, as you can hear, the piece very closely resembles the Shadow Temple theme. At least at the beginning, until it diverts off and shows its mixtape colors. If you’re interested in the rest of the album, you can stream or download it for free on Sweet Valley’s bandcamp.
