Following last month’s reveal of the Labo VR Headset, Nintendo has just announced that the virtual reality feature will soon be functional with Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. This announcement may come as a surprise, but the listed games are two of the Nintendo Switch’s best selling.
The Labo website lists new features coming to Super Mario Odyssey in the form of three new mini-missions. However, no new gameplay has been announced for Breath of the Wild. A free update for both games is set to go live on April 25th to support Labo VR. If you’re looking to get your hands on a virtual reality Zelda or Mario experience, the Nintendo Labo VR Kit retails for $79.99, or the VR Kit Starter Set + Blaster is going for $39.99. They are set to release on April 12th.
What are your thoughts on this sudden announcement? Are you hoping to experience Breath of the Wild in a whole new way? Let us know in the comments below!

John has been a Zelda fan for over 10 years now and is proud to say the series has had a major impact on his life (and wallet). After years of going to Zelda Dungeon for guides or the latest news on the series, John achieved their dream when they joined the writing team in 2019; John can hardly believe how long it’s been. A librarian, he loves meticulously arranging his library of Zelda games and collectibles. After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
