Unusual Navi cosplay

Cosplaying Zelda characters is not a rare sight. In fact, while at the Anime Revolution convention over the weekend, I saw dozens of Links and Zeldas roaming the halls. What I didn’t see, however, was a Navi cosplay… especially a Navi portrayed in this fashion, by Australian cosplayer Eve Beauregard. Whenever I imagined cosplaying Navi, the image that always popped into my head was a large puffy plushy thing. Never this amazing costume, that put a completely different spin on the Ocarina of Time fairy.

While it is very revealing, it is not entirely unbelievable for a Zelda game, considering other characters that have had similar appearances, such as the Great Fairy in both Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and a few other games.

Congratulations, Eve, on successfully cosplaying Navi in a new way. Usually, when people try to portray their own vision of a character, it doesn’t turn out so well, but this one certainly did. While it takes away from the original innocence of Navi, it adds a completely different side to our famous fairy – and not in a bad way! However, if I had been walking along and saw this costume, I would first think that it was a different version of Zelda – mostly due to the style of the hair, but the wings and color would probably help me to realize otherwise.
