Unpopular Video Game Opinions Tackles Majora’s Mask
Posted on January 29 2015 by Jeffrey Edelstein
Generally speaking, we’re pretty positive around here when it comes to Majora’s Mask. Not only is it a favorite of our staff members, but in our polls it nearly always comes out on top. As such, we tend to forget that there are other opinions out there regarding the Ocarina of Time sequel, and often gloss over them when they pop up. In order to remind fans like us that there are other ways to see this entry, Unpopular Opinions creator, Trailer Drake, has dedicated the most recent entry to voicing ten opinions about Majora’s Mask that are rarely heard.
The video opens with a bang, stating that the 3D remake, arriving in just over two weeks, is not something that the game needs, and seems to be happening because Ocarina of Time 3D already did. This isn’t to say he isn’t as happy as we are that it’s happening; it just seems unnecessary. This is swiftly followed up with a criticism of the love-it-or-hate-it time limit feature, aptly noting that this does eliminate the option of a leisurely adventure. Adding to this is a note of the general air of frustration going throughout the game, making special note of repetitive tasks and “lackluster” temple design.
It should be recognized, however, that not all the opinions stated are negative. Halfway through the video, Drake notes that he believes Tingle to be the single greatest thing to come out of Majora’s Mask. Judging by how he plays in Hyrule Warriors, it’s a compelling point. To contrast with one of the previous points, Drake expresses his satisfaction with the fewer-than-usual number of dungeons, stating that he likes having a shorter Zelda game. The final stance made on Majora’s Mask compared to its predecessor. Needless to say, this point might be the point divisive of all.

There’s also an unpopular opinions video on Zelda in general, in case you’re looking for more tough love for the franchise. Do any of these beliefs resonate with you? With the changes that Majora’s Mask 3D is making, will some of these become obsolete? What unpopular opinion about Majora’s Mask do you have that wasn’t mentioned here?
