The Legend of Zelda - Fire and Ice Prophecies (merged)Back in January of 2012, a rumor went around concerning the upcoming Zelda game for the Nintendo 3DS, which was, at the time, yet to be announced as A Link Between Worlds. The rumor was that not one but two Zelda games were in development for Nintendo 3DS. At the time, English titles had not been given, but the Japanese working titles were The Legend of Zelda: Fire Prophecy and The Legend of Zelda: Ice Prophecy. However, after the success of the re-release of the Oracle games on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, rumors have surfaced that Nintendo is continuing with this idea, and that the re-release of Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages was to see if consumers would be open to the idea. April Fools! I’m just kidding! These titles were a legitimate rumor back at the start of 2012, but were soon confirmed to be fake. It was also believed that these games would be similar to the Oracle games in that they could be connected through a password system to unlock extras.

The Legend of Zelda - Fire and Ice Prophecies

While these two games might have been fake, I would like to see two new Zelda games that work in a similar way to the Oracle games. While not being so great on their own, I thought that they had a brilliant overarching plot. I think it’d be really cool to see this idea revisited, but maybe have each game a little more developed so that they could stand on their own. Perhaps one could be a distinct sequel to the other, and choices made in the first game carry over to the second.

What do you guys think? Would you have liked to see these games made? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
