Twilight Princess in High Definition

During the buildup to the release of Twilight Princess, many Zelda fans were greatly anticipating the title and much of that anticipation was due to the more mature visual look. However, with nearly four years since the release of Twilight Princess, there now seems to be more of a mixed opinion towards the graphics of the game. Many people think it was actually a step back from the Wind Waker, while others still think it is by far the best graphical game that Zelda has had to offer. Nevertheless, one thing seems clear, they could have done more. Thankfully, a couple of users at EmuTalk have done more by hacking a Twiight Princess ROM and changing some of the textures found in the game to show a significantly more appealing game.
It’s really quite awesome and perhaps just as awesome as the Wind Waker HD Screenshots that we reported on a few months back. It just makes you think that if Nintendo really wanted to push the boundaries graphically, Zelda could really be something magical in the graphic department. At the very least, these screenshots are something nice that we can look at and drool over.
So what do you think? Is this the type of graphical output that you hoped from Twilight Princess? Do you still think that the Wind Waker’s cel-shading was superior graphically? What about Skyward Sword? How do you think that games graphics stack up to the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess? Let us know by posting in the comments below.
