Tri Force Heroes Won’t Have Cameo Costumes from Other Franchises, Only Zelda Costumes
Posted on July 28 2015 by Rod Lloyd
With Tri Force Heroes offering enough costumes to fill three months of gameplay, some fans may have expected to see some cameo costumes from other classic Nintendo franchises. Unfortunately, it seems we won’t be finding a Mario or Samus outfit hidden in this new Zelda game after all. In an interview with Game Informer, director Hiromasa Shikata confirmed that Tri Force Heroes will only feature costumes from the Zelda universe, meaning there will be no cameo costumes from other franchises.
The interviewer was very straightforward when asking about cameo costumes:
“Game Informer: Will we see costumes fashioned after other Nintendo franchises?
Shikata: Like Mario? No. Stuff from the Zelda universe only.”
The exclusion of costumes inspired by other Nintendo franchises is definitely disappointing for Tri Force Heroes. With other new Nintendo titles like Yoshi’s Woolly World offering guest costumes unlocked by amiibo, one may have expected such functionality in the new Zelda game. But all is not lost; there are still “so many” costumes yet to be revealed for the game. Perhaps we’ll still see some fun an interesting outfits that appeal to fan service in other ways.
Are you disappointed by Tri Force Heroes‘ lack of cameo costumes? Were there any secret outfits you hoped to see? Share your thoughts with us below!
