The Wind Waker HD is Dominating the European eShop Charts

The Wind Waker HD appears to be getting a boost on the digital charts in Europe this past few weeks, likely due to the release of Mario Kart 8. Outside of the fact there are a lot more Wii U owners, the free game program for buying Mario Kart 8 is in place across the globe, and The Wind Waker HD appears to be the popular choice. We’re even seeing an increase in views this past week for our The Wind Waker HD Walkthrough, letting us know we have a slew of new players out there. The Wind Waker HD isn’t the only Zelda game to grace the Top 20 charts.
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- Pikmin 3
- New Super Mario Bros. U
- Wii Party U
- Mario Kart 8
- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- The Legend of Zelda
- Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
- Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Kirby’s Adventure
- Earthbound
- Pac-Man Collection
- Child of Light
- NES Remix 2
- 1001 Spikes
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Art Academy: Sketchpad
As you can see, there are four other Zelda games in the top twenty. What is also interesting, and a proving ground that the free game promotion is working, is the top four are all games that you can get for free everywhere by buying Mario Kart 8. Did you get The Wind Waker HD with your copy of Mario Kart 8? Personally, I already had a digital copy of the game (I have the Zelda themed Wii U) so I picked up Pikmin 3. My current collection of Wii U games for those wondering: New Super Mario Bros. U, The Wind Waker HD, Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Wii Fit U, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Lego City, and Toki Tori 2. I admit, I really need to get into more of the indie offerings.
