The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom to Feature Playable Princess Zelda
Posted on June 18 2024 by Nick Miller
After years of waiting, Zelda fans will finally be able to play as Princess Zelda in a mainline Zelda game! Officially announced in today’s Nintendo Direct, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will feature our favorite noble princess as the main protagonist.
After a battle with Ganon, Link has vanished into a mysterious void and it is up to Hyrule’s princess to rescue him. With the help of a fairy named Tri, Princess Zelda must use a mystic staff, the Tri Rod, to explore Hyrule and uncover the mystery of Link’s disappearance.
Echoes of Wisdom isn’t satisfied being a copy and paste of one of Link’s adventures, however, as Princess Zelda will have an entirely unique moveset. With the Tri Rod, Zelda will collect “echoes” of objects and enemies, which allows her to manifest them in the environment for use in combat and puzzle-solving. Players will have to use their wits to creatively utilize their echoes in overcoming obstacles, which ensures that no two players have the same experience. How you approach a challenge is entirely up to you.
Echoes of Wisdom also appears to have a dedicated jump button for platforming, marking another stark contrast from the traditional 2D Zelda gameplay fans have become accustomed to.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will release on September 26th, 2024 along with a special edition Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch Lite.
So, how do you feel about having a new Zelda game? Are you excited to play as Princess Zelda? How do you feel about Zelda’s new moveset? Tell us all about it in the comments below!
