In addition to all the talented craftspeople and powerful performances, last month’s Tekko 2024 convention had a lot of wonderful Zelda cosplays drawing inspiration from across the franchise. The skill, diversity, and determination in the community have become even more impressive over the years, so Zelda Dungeon wanted to highlight some of the awesome attendees from the con!

First, we met Shelby, who made her Link cosplay with a classic green tunic, carrying a charming Korok. It’s incredible to see many interpretations of a costume throughout the community! Causal cosplays, also sometimes called “closet cosplays,” are becoming more popular, making cosplay an even more approachable hobby.

Next, we met Mike, and they rocked Link’s Gerudo Outfit. They purchased their outfit from an online retailer, reminding everyone that you don’t have to spend hours learning a skill to participate in this hobby. They sported the set with confidence, boldly declaring that ultimate fun in Tears of the Kingdom starts with taking on Queen Gibdo first!

Then, we interacted with a phenomenal group of cosplayers portraying Link from across the series, featuring Eric, Kira, Ashe, and Dani. They were a wonderful example of how cosplay is always more fun when you’re doing it with friends! One of the cosplayers even noted that their experience with Zelda was limited, but they felt so inspired and joyful by their friends’ passions that they committed to the group! Some cosplays were handmade, and some were purchased, but Dani said as a cosplayer, “Handmade or not, Zelda will still find you!”

We also encountered Space Mermaid Cosplay, wearing an incredible Purah from Tears of the Kingdom. After a friend made a comment that their personality matched Purah’s, it inspired their first handmade cosplay effort. If anyone wants to try making this outfit themselves, you can find the pattern from cosplayprintables on Etsy!

Finally, we met @izee_eyez, who had one of the most creative cosplays at the convention! They created the Charged Armor Set from Tears of the Kingdom, alongside some hilarious Korok props. This one shows how diverse modern Zelda cosplays can be, especially with the numerous armor options from the open-world games.

Are you inspired to pursue your next Zelda cosplay at a convention near you? Send your love to these awesome cosplayers and let us know your cosplay dreams in the comments below!
