While trying to find an art style for Zelda Wii U, Nintendo experimented with various art styles in HD, some of which were art styles that had been used for past Zelda titles. As you may know, The Wind Waker‘s visuals were found to have a significant improvement, leading to the production of The Wind Waker HD. Now, the people on YouTube channel Nintendo Life have done similarly by testing Skyward Sword‘s art style in HD, and have since prepared…

Oh Nintendo, how you love to tease us. The sign of Majora’s Mask in Link’s house in the recently released A Link Between Worlds was a pretty neat little Easter egg, but the fandom, as it always does, expected more. Whether it be preposterous theories about Ravio trying to use the mask to save Lorule or confirmation that Majora’s Mask 3D was happening, people took to the internet! However, with the recent Game Informer interview with Hiromasa Shikata, a remake of Majora’s Mask seems all the more likely.

“[Having Majora’s Mask in Link’s house] was a special request from Aonuma’s production team. Now why would they ask us to do that?” — Hiromasa Shikata

It seems like a given at this point, but who knows. We might assume it’s a remake, but what if it’s a sequel? Only time will tell.

Seldom does one see Four Swords Adventures referred to at all, let alone in the context of remaking Zelda titles. It is rarely recognized, having sold less than any other main series Zelda game in history, leaving it under-played and under-appreciated. Now to make my point here clear, I am not defending Four Swords Adventures as some brilliant masterpiece that deserves idolization and praise, as this is not at all the case, but what I am going to try to…

Now that Majora’s Mask has been mentioned three times this year, right before VGX two IGN editors have taken a few minutes to discuss whether a Majora’s Mask remake is going to come in the near future. Obviously there’s support from Nintendo’s core fanbase, however there’s much more to consider when making a remake, so nobody’s entirely sure. Hit the jump to watch!

After they showed they could do it with Ocarina of Time 3D, a sizable portion of the Zelda fanbase has been clamoring for remakes of their favorite titles in the series, but the demand for one in particular has stood out among the rest: Majora’s Mask. Operation Moonfall has thousands of fans hoping for a 3DS remake, and that impressive fanmade trailer for an HD Majora’s Mask convinced a lot of people that a Wii U version of the game would be awesome. Some fans’ hopes have been rising recently with all the teasing about there being some sort of hint in A Link Between Worlds with regards to the future of Majora’s Mask.

But, when asked about the state of spooky

Zelda games in a recent interview with IGN, Aonuma was unwilling to even confirm that a Majora remake is even being considered. Now, perhaps that means he’s just keeping the idea completely under-wraps until reveal, perhaps it means Nintendo literally isn’t even considering doing a Majora’s Mask remake anymore, or perhaps it’s something in between those two extremes. I’ll guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

Personally, I’m pulling for an HD remake, but what about you? Do you want it on 3DS, Wii U, or not at all?

Eiji Aonuma, the famous video game directer we know know all too well, has been conversing quite a bit about remakes recently with the very topical release of The Wind Waker HD. And the most discussed remake is probably Majora’s Mask 3D, a sequel to Ocarina of Time 3D, which many people inquire about. Many are hopeful it will happen as they see it as a logical choice with the fan-favorite type of game and the popularity of Ocarina of…

In a recent Facebook Q&A session with fans, series producer Eiji Aonuma shed some light on aspects of the upcoming A Link Between Worlds which up until now, have been fairly mysterious. These include the game’s antagonist, Yuga, and the curious Maiamai race, including the item-upgrading character known as Mother Maiamai. In addition to this info, Aonuma also slipped in a small comment regarding Majora’s Mask, presumably to address the recent hype surrounding the possibility of a remake. Hit the…

Miyamoto has revealed that he’d like an A Link to the Past remake on the 3DS, but he’s wanted it for quite a bit longer than you’d think. Aonuma revealed in an interview with Spike that since they first made the 3DS, Miyamoto has been bugging him to make A Link to the Past on the 3DS. As a result, Aonuma made A Link Between Worlds instead of a follow up to Zelda NES or Zelda II.

Mr. Miyamoto has always been on me about making

A Link To The Past for the 3DS. Just kind of constantly in my ear about that. When I would do it was up to me, but it’s kind of been something that has been on my plate… Ever since the 3DS existed. He’s always saying, “Why haven’t you made it yet? Why haven’t you made it yet?”

It may not be a remake, but it helps fulfill both Miyamoto’s desire for a Link to the Past remake along with the fans wanting for a new title, and it certainly looks like it’ll be a great addition to the franchise. Read on to see the entirety of what Aonuma had to say!

Of all the games the the Zelda series it’s Majora’s Mask that is considered to be the black sheep of the series. It has much darker undertones, subtle references and more theories about hidden meanings than I could mention in one post. However, since the release of Ocarina of Time 3D on the 3DS in 2011, fans of the game have been asking for a remake of Majora’s Mask which even culminated in a worldwide petition known as Operation Moonfall which…

Information about the upcoming The Wind Waker HD has been tricking in a lot more often lately. Well Aonuma is back with a new interview on Polygon where he tells fans just a little bit more about the long awaited remake. In this he shares his concerns about making too many changes to the original game and how it might upset fans. He states how he saw the negative reaction from fans after showing images in a Nintendo Direct presentation…
