Less than a week ago I made an update stating that our Zelda Wiki had surpassed the 2,600 article mark. Well, less than 7 days have passed and we have now cleared 2,700 articles. As of the writing of this post, the Wiki sits at 2,713 articles, with another 1,218 Wanted Pages waiting to be created. One of the projects that I’ve personally been working on, is the Strategy Guides Directory. This is a collection of every single Legend of…

A survey was held between December 7th and 11th over at Famitsu.com to see what the readers thought were the Top 50 Nintendo games ever made. For those of you out of the loop, Famitsu is one most respected and highly circulated magazines over in Japan. Their fans have spoken and eight Zelda titles fit in the listing of Top 50 Nintendo games, six of which made it in the top 20. The Zelda games listed can be seen below….

The September issue of Nintendo Power arrived for subscribers last week and is now on store shelves all across the country. There are a lot of little goodies to be found throughout the issue, but surprisingly almost nothing concerning the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. One of the goodies came in the Pulse section of the magazine where one of the fans asked this concerning the Zelda Timeline. Breah D.: I was really excited to see a lot of…

Part of an ongoing project here at Zelda Dungeon is to try to build a collection of all the Zelda references that we can find in the various official publications. I’ve been slowly but surely updating our Zelda Publications page, including all the Nintendo Power mentions of Zelda. I have added sixteen new issues and they range from early 1992 to mid-1993. Listed below are some of the cool Zelda related features that were found in the magazines. Starting in…

In the year 1991, mentions of the Super Nintendo began to slowly pop up in the Nintendo Power magazine. While the Super Famicom had already been released as of November of 1990 in Japan, the Super Nintendo didn’t release until Fall of 1991 in the United States. In the months before the release, Nintendo Power was slowly but surely building the hype by offering quick previews of many of the upcoming titles. Super Mario World got a lot of the…

This guide is for the original release of Link’s Awakening and was published by Keibunsha. This guide offers some of the officially released artwork from Nintendo, but not much else. The guide only offers 79 actual guide pages and it is not a 100% complete guide. For example, the guide does not provide locations for all secret seashells, but rather, only the 20 that are needed. Additionally, only the first 32 pages of the guide are in color, with the…

I have added another Japanese guide from Link’s Awakening to the Strategy Guides section of the website. This guide was published by Futabasha, of which the DX version of the guide was recently uploaded a few weeks backs. This guide offers a whole new set of artwork for the game, which is quite different from any of the artwork found in the official Nintendo guide or the DX Futabasha guide. It has much more of an anime look to the…

A few weeks back I purchased a rare Link’s Awakening Japanese Strategy Guide. It arrived in the mail and I’ve fully scanned it and it is now available for viewing right here at Zelda Dungeon. The release of the guide is part of an ongoing project here at Zelda Dungeon to try to get a collection of old and rare guides and magazines. This particular guide does not have too much rare artwork, but it still has a few images…
