Welcome back, everyone! I’m sure you’re all ready for another entry of ZI’s weekly Caption Contest. So I must admit, I had to carefully consult ZI’s code of conduct when collecting the winners from last week. Fortunately, there were plenty of creative (if a little risqué) entries and we ended up with a pretty good-looking group of winners. Needless to say, this week we’re steering clear from old ladies and their euphemistic cats in favor of an awesome motorcycle. I’m sure you all have some choice words to attach to this Hylian biker…

Nintendo’s partnership with HORI presses on with two “new” accessories for your Wii or Wii U. Advertised as a Wii U wheel for Mario Kart 8, HORI is releasing a brand new Zelda and Toad themed wheel accessories for your Wiimotes. Obviously, you can use these Wheels for games on your Wii, but their existence likely is due to Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker released late last year and Zelda getting DLC in Mario Kart 8. The Zelda themed wheel is all gold with a matte finish featuring the Mario Kart star symbol on the front with a full Hylian Crest on the back. The Toad version is a blue matte finish with the same symbol on the front but a Toad symbol on the back…

We try to make a habit around here to not talk too much about games that aren’t related to the Zelda franchise, but we’re making a special case here not only because the new update today provides two new Zelda stamps, but because we host tournament streams regularly for this game and will be hosting our very first 200cc tournament next week! That being said, the latest Mario Kart DLC pack has arrived today along with the free 200cc update. While new stamps were always a given, we certainly didn’t expect two new Zelda related stamp…

With Nintendo’s desire to keep certain titles alive long after release, it seems that we have been seeing quite a bit of downloadable content lately. In the past six months we have had numerous amounts of DLC released for several key titles like Super Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors, and Mario Kart 8. With some of the content being offered as bonuses or rewards from pre-orders as well as Club Nintendo, even those that haven’t wanted to pay for more content…

Our weekly podcast keeps chugging along, with special guest PaperBoxHouse. We sit down to talk about the recently released Mario Party 10, the new trailer for the movie Pixels, and the recent string of interviews with top Nintendo executives. Your host as always for this week is Adam (who can’t pronounce anything properly), and your cast of lovable adventurers includes: Jake (wants a Gold Mario Amiibo), Caleb (triggered as usual), and special guest for this week Alfred/PaperBoxHouse (he’s still holding out for Super Mario Galaxy 3). Tune in to hear our weekly news roundup, as well as Adam’s secret Kingdom Hearts/Metal Gear Solid fan fiction…

The folks from Hidden Triforce recently posted a video covering the new Hyrule Circuit track from the first DLC for Mario Kart 8. In the video they go over the new added features through two races. First they show a normal race involving Link in the Hyrule Castle track and next they take a much more in deph look at the background and all the little details that were added in. Jump inside to check it out for yourself.

Mario Kart 8 Triforce Cup DLC

November 14 2014 by Kev

The day has finally arrived for the Zelda DLC for Mario Kart 8 containing 3 characters to race as, four vehicles to crash and eight tracks to cover with banana peels. One of the new cups is the Triforce Cup, which contains three remade tracks and, most importantly, the Hyrule Circuit. I’ve put together a video showing these snazzy courses while driving (or at least trying to) as our favourite hero on his awesome new motorbike. See the video after…

Rejoice, Mario Kart 8 fans! The first DLC pack has now been released, alongside the 3.0 update, adding amiibo support to the game…

In what shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, the Zelda related Amiibos are supporting the games that make sense for them to support. While the Link Amiibo gives us a spinner in Hyrule Warriors and a costume for our Miis in Mario Kart 8, we aren’t fully aware what the other Amiibos will offer. It’s rather safe to assume it will be something similar for their respective characters. Nintendo hasn’t announced what the functionality will be just yet, though I think we already know what Toon Link will be doing. What do you think? Do you like that Amiibo functionality is making it into seemingly every game Nintendo releases…

One of the biggest things hitting us this week is the new DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 (which you should really check out our Livestream this Thursday for it!). I figured now was a good time to draw some more attention by releasing 42 newer screenshots for it. We’ve been sitting on these since the last Nintendo Direct, but we were a bit focused on well… a game of which we shall not name. Let’s stick to the Mario Kart talk, shall we? Do you hope to see Zelda expand it’s role in future Mario Kart titles…
