The topic of multiplayer in the Zelda series is a bit of a strange one. Despite being able to occasionally find elements from other genres in certain games in the series, Zelda is first and foremost an adventure game, where your focus is going to be on completing a journey, but also just finding things and enjoying the journey itself. It’s not exactly a genre in which one often finds multiplayer functionality, but on occasion Zelda games do have multiplayer…

Zelda Universe’s 25 Years in 25 Days continues through Zelda history with the year 2004. This was the year that Nintendo announced their newest handheld and newest console, the Nintendo DS and the Wii, at E3. Fans were also shown the first trailer of the new Zelda game that would be coming out on the GameCube. Due to the dislike of the graphics from the previous title, The Wind Waker, many fans were skeptical about this next game. That game…

In Nintendo Power’s November issue, they celebrated the GameCube’s tenth anniversary by creating a list of the console’s top 25 games. All three Legend of Zelda games released for the GameCube made the list. The Wind Waker came in second, Twilight Princess came in third, and Four Swords Adventure came in twenty-second. It’s hard to believe that the Gamecube came out ten years ago, especially when many of the games on the list are still talked about and played today….

One of the primary changes to the upcoming Nintendo DS-i remake of Four Swords is the option to allow for a single player mode. This is handled similar to that of Four Swords Adventures where you can switch between two players, setup an arrangement, or have one Link follow the other. In a recent impressions article, the folks over at Nintendo World Report had this to say about the additional single player controls. The original sadly probably didn’t get played…

IGN recently posted about The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords that was announced at E3 as a free download to the DSi. They speculated if this means that more Gameboy Advance games will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop’s Virtual Console. They specifically mentioned the possibility of A Link to the Past, which released on the GBA with updated graphics. That cartridge is where Four Swords first appeared. Read my thoughts on what this might mean after the jump!

These days we seem to be hearing more and more talk about the Zelda series getting stale. Nintendo reusing the same structure in each game is a good example. And I don’t just mean the game in general (collect three items, plot twist, collect some more items, final showdown). I’m also talking about specific elements, such as dungeon structure. Even other elements of the series have been reused again and again. Villains, items, plot twists, kidnappings, magical objects. Some people…

Do you think that Ganon or Ganondorf should appear in the upcoming Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo Wii? This topic of discussion was raised at the Zelda Dungeon Facebook page by our Staff member Joseph and forum member peahats95 also posted a forum thread concerning the topic. Listed below are a few of the responses from other forum users. Posted by Jesper: “I’d love to see him, because there is so many twists and cool things you can…

When doing my rounds of the community, the folks at GoNintendo posted about an old article found at Joystiq. The article, originally posted in 2008, discusses the potential of another Four Swords Adventures title, this time for the Nintendo Wii. Four Swords Adventures was doomed from the get go, simply because the massive amounts of accessories needed to even play the game with friends. Many Zelda fans, myself included, were never able to experience what many believe to be a…
