Marge, I’d like to be alone with the sandwich for a moment.
John Furby joined the Writing Team at Zelda Dungeon in mid-2023. A lifelong Zelda fanboy, he started his journey at the tender age of four, playing The Legend on Zelda on his neighbor’s NES when her older brother wasn’t around to tell them no.
Refusing to grow up, John remained an avid video game enthusiast and collector, amassing a healthy collection of games meaningful to his childhood. He is also a collector of action figures, comics, board games, LEGOs, vinyl, cassettes, VHS, books, Nintendo Power magazines, and old phones. He also likes to think of himself as an okay golfer, billiards player, and dart thrower.
John attended Columbia College Chicago majoring in Film/Video with a focus on Screenwriting. He has written several screenplays, with one winning an award, and even produced a few of his own short films.
In 2022, he welcomed his first daughter into the world and immediately played through A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess for her so she would know what good games were from the beginning.
If you’d like to follow him on Instagram to see his collections, sunsets, and too many (or not enough depending on your preference) pictures of his child, follow “Lonetree84.” If you’d like to follow him on Twitter before the end, it’s here. He’s also on Facebook but he’s really only there on his birthday.
In his increasingly limited spare time, he occasionally runs a podcast where he plays through Graphic Adventure games and gives silly commentary: Adventures and Quests: Points, Clicks, and Texts.
