Smooth McGroove is Back Again with an A Cappella Deku Palace Theme
Posted on February 25 2015 by Rod Lloyd
For the last three weeks, YouTube superstar Smooth McGroove has been churning out Majora’s Mask arrangements in honor of the new 3DS remake. Joining his Milk Bar and Oath of Order videos, today McGroove released an a cappella version of the Deku Palace theme. Give the song a listen and see what happens when one of Zelda‘s catchiest tunes is redone in Smooth McGroove’s signature style.
Proving the wealth of musical genius present in the game, this Deku Palace cover marks McGroove’s third Majora’s Mask video in a row. In the comments, McGroove notes that he hasn’t spent this much time in a game’s soundtrack “in like two years.” He then hinted that he may spend more time focusing on a single game in the future.
If this proves to be the last video from Majora’s Mask for a while, I’m glad he chose this particular song. Of all the music in Majora’s Mask, the Deku Palace theme is the tune that sticks in my head the longest. But who knows, maybe we’ll get some Skyward Sword music soon. Smooth McGroose, anyone?
