Rumor: Smaller and Cheaper Switch Model Coming this Fall, More Powerful Switch System Likely to Release Next Year

Recent reports — that have been neither confirmed nor denied by Nintendo — have pointed to two new Switch models, such as a smaller version of the system, currently being worked on and set to be unveiled as early as this summer. And now a recent report coming from Japanese newspaper Nikkei is continuing to fuel speculation for new Switch models hitting the market soon.
Nikkei is reporting that Nintendo will be releasing a smaller and cheaper Switch model this Fall. While this version of the console will be a more portable version of the system, it will still have the docking feature allowing for it to be hooked up to a television.
The report also mentions a stronger, “next-generation” Switch console, though the release date of this version has be moved to sometime next year due to internal challenges. It is unclear if this model is the more powerful console mentioned in The Wall Street Journal’s report from last month.
What do you think of this news? Which new version of the Switch will we be getting this Fall? Let us know in the comments below!
