Report: New Switch Models Have Entered Production
Posted on June 15 2019 by Charles Xavier
Rumors of two new Switch models have been floating around for a few months now, but despite Nintendo adhering to their public announcement that they wouldn’t show any new hardware at E3, a report this week from The Wall Street Journal gave some new details on the rumored Switch models. Notably, it’s stated in the report that manufacturing of the new Switch models was chosen to be moved to southeast Asia rather than China to avoid potential United States tariffs on Chinese-made electronics.
According to the report, one of these models will be largely the same as the current Switch model, but with improved components and a higher price range, while the other will have lower specs to be priced cheaper. Now that these models are in production, Wall Street Journal says they could release sometime soon.
Will we get new Switch models this year? If not, when do you project these rumors to come to fruition? Tell us in the comments!
