Photoshop Contest: Zelda Anime Z
Posted on July 24 2015 by Rod Lloyd
What’s this?! Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest has returned! This week, the artistic forces of our community will fight to create the ultimate anime adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Warriors will clash, power levels will rise, and heroes will emerge in this exciting contest. So without further delay, let’s admire the winners of last week’s contest: Honoring Satoru Iwata before moving on to the new the contest.
Last Week’s Contest:
Last time on the Photoshop Contest, we opened up an opportunity for artists to honor the legacy of Satoru Iwata. The entries expressed the artists’ respect and gratitude for Mr. Iwata’s life, work, and achievements, while also reflecting the wholesome silliness that Iwata was well known for. Understandably, some of our more frequent contestants decided not to compete as they felt unable to create entries worthy of the respect Iwata deserved but nonetheless offered beautiful letters of thanks to our beloved hero. Head over to last week’s contest page to see it all.

Artist: Redead Link
Challenge Mode
In honor of the many fantastic games that Iwata helped foster over the years, last week’s Challenge Mode asked artists to include characters from Balloon Fight, Kirby, and Earthbound. Antonio Quiacain not only crafted a touching tribute to Iwata’s body of work, but the artist also earnestly urged more artists to submit entries out of thanks to the Nintendo legend. I’ll just share a snippet of it:
“I know this image its not worthy enough to honor Satoru Iwata, but still this is a very good way of saying thanks to him.
And I think everyone should try: your skills don’t matter as far as I know we are doing this contest to honor Satou Iwata.”
Thank you, Antonio. Well done.
This Week’s Contest: Zelda Anime Z
Last week, Zelda Informer covered the launch of the Zeldamotion Kickstarter, a project set to produce an anime adaptation of Akira Himekawa’s A Link to the Past manga. Unfortunately, whispers of copyright claims resulted in the Kickstarter being taken down and the future of the project left uncertain. We may not get the Zelda anime many fans have always wanted.
But that won’t stop Photoshop Contest contestants from creating the Zelda anime fans have always wanted. That’s right; the contest this week is to construct your vision of a Zelda anime saga. Whether you want to create the genuine anime feel or concoct a loving spoof of anime clichés, this contest will test the fates of ZI Photoshoppers forever. Epic battles, insurmountable villains, asinine goofiness, and schoolgirl waifus are all welcome here. Start your journey with the image gallery below and move on to rest of the internet to create your entry.
What crazy anime images will the ZI community create? Find out next time in the Zelda Informer’s Photoshop Contest!
