Photoshop Contest: My Big Fat Zelda Wedding
Posted on August 06 2016 by Rod Lloyd
Do not fear. It may be somewhat behind, but Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest is ready to go. Just to come clean a little bit, I was preoccupied all day yesterday getting ready for my friend’s wedding. After being awake for 19 hours and having marriage on the brain all day, I had the revelation that I should make this week’s contest wedding themed. It may be a bad idea, but we’ll find that out together. Join us inside, where you can also see the winners of last week’s contest: The Adventures of Lizalfos and Deku Scrub.
Last Week’s Contest:
In perhaps the strangest theme we’ve ever done, last week’s contest asked entrants to depict an adventure with two of the Zelda series’ most frequent enemies.

This Week’s Contest: My Big Fat Zelda Wedding
Romance may not be something that plays a prominent role in the Zelda series proper, but it sure is something that the fans have always latched onto. Which characters are a match for each other, which ones aren’t, and which characters could one day tie the knot? Heck, some staff members of our site have asked such questions. With the fervor for match-making still strong, a wedding-themed Photoshop Contest isn’t all that strange.
The contest this week is to ‘shop a wedding for two Zelda characters. There are no restrictions for which two characters you choose, and there are no restrictions for which part of a wedding you’d like to depict. Check out our gallery below for inspiration, but feel free to work from anything you find on the internet.
General Rules: Submit your entries in the comments section below.
- To save images from the gallery, right click the image in the gallery (without opening the image in lightbox) and select open image in new tab. Go up to the address bar and delete __small from the URL. Hit enter, right click, and save!
- Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
- Some hand-drawn fan art is okay, but your entry must include some image manipulation to be considered.
- If you use another fan’s original assets or likeness, please try to give them credit.
- Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
- Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
- Have fun and be creative!
Deadline: Submit entries no later than Thursday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on August 11. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.
Challenge Mode
For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a few Challenge Rules for you to follow:
1. Your entry must include a full wedding party: bride(s)/groom(s), officiator, ring bearer, flower girl, and organ player.
If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.
Good luck!
