Parody of The Giving Tree on a Zelda tee
Posted on June 06 2013 by Jessica
I always thought the Great Deku Tree seemed familiar. Perhaps I saw him in a children’s book as young lad, but without the bushy brows and mustache, though the tree was quite generous. Just kidding. Many of you have probably read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein at some point in your childhood, a well known classic that taught us the value of giving and being thankful.
Available on Sanshee for $19.99, this lovely shirt strongly resembles the cover of The Giving Tree, just as Link represents the little boy in the story, as the Kokiri’s emerald resembles the falling apple. Clever and oddly similar to the well known scene in Ocarina of Time, this shirt easily makes a simple yet memorable parody. Hit the jump for more!
This shirt is available in two different shades of green, light green for guys and dark green for girls, you can get them here.
For anyone who has yet to read this classic story and haven’t seen the book’s cover, here it is.
It would be pretty funny if there actually were a book that strongly followed The Giving Tree and replaced the characters as did in this shirt. Bring back memories? Will you be getting this parody tee? Let us know in the comments below!
