Nintendo hit the nail on the head with A Link Between Worlds, combining nostalgia with more amazing game design to create an enjoyable handheld Zelda game for both old fans and new. It is one of my favorite games I’ve ever played, and I’m sure others would say the same. One thing I’ve talked about with my fellow Zelda Informers co-workers before is what 2D Zelda game would also be fun if given the A Link Between Worlds treatment (that is, re-creating the older game’s world and using it in a new game)…

The Zelda community loves taking familiar places in Ocarina of Time and recreating them to make them look more realistic. Today we get to share with you AlbertREWesker’sversion of Goron City. We have featured some of his work before, and he does not disappoint. This version of Goron City is super realistic with great attention to detail. It looks just like the game, with all the maze like passages and the different floors. The ropes at the top where you would normally walk across in game is there too. You even get to peek into the “secret” passage way that leads back to the Lost Woods…

Breathe of the Wild has presented us with a massive world full of life and wonder, from giant, laser-shooting creatures to vast landscapes to evil monsters waiting to be hunted down. But something we have seen little to none of is people. Link, the Old Man, and in a way, the voice from the Resurrection Chamber are all Nintendo has shown us in terms of other signs of civilization. There will be towns and such later, but or all we…

Greetings, all you people. Are you ready for another entry in Zelda Informer’s weekly Caption Contest? I mentioned last week that I have somehow accumulated a ton of funny pictures of Toon Link for eventual use in the contest. Well, considering it is the first a brand new month and I have no better way to clear my plate of such Toon Link images, I might as well set the month of August apart as Toon Link Month. The next five Mondays will see some outrageous depictions of out favorite cat-eyed hero, starting today with this slanted affair…

Art style is a big sticking point in the Zelda series. Most of the major controversies surrounding the series, many of the “splits” in the fan base, all started with the wide variance in art styles. Keep in mind this is a series that has shifted art direction so many times it could be argued that it’s hard to pinpoint what exactly is the visual identity of the series is. Let’s look at a handful of the art styles used in this series to date…

Our Zelda Versus Best Zelda Dungeon Tournament has returned, though we’re changing up how votes are collected this time around. The problem at Zelda Informer is that the poll system is fundamentally broken and all the embed-able options from “free poll makers” provide various amount of issues. Thus, as we continue to push forward with Zelda Versus, we are going to do a two pronged approach. First, we’ll have this poll for each match-up right here on Nintendo Prime’s forums (the Zelda Informer forums are, at this time, broken). In addition, a poll will be ran on our twitter, and then we’ll combine the results to get a final victor in each match-up…

People who were fortunate enough to attend E3 and play the Breath of the Wild demo had the opportunity to experience one of the game’s bosses, a giant rock creature known as Steppe Talus. Encountering the creature also allowed players to listen to the golem-like creature’s themed music. Steppe Talus’s theme is one that fits with his size and intimidation, filled with drum beats and horns. The beating drums give the listener the sense of wandering through a thick forest or jungle, only to stumble upon the titan Steppe Talus. A YouTuber, known as Shady Cicada, has created a rock cover to this song and increased the energy and tension behind it…

YouTuber Sarah Willoughby uploaded her top five Zelda dungeons. She made her selections notably from Ocarina of TimeTwilight Princess, and The Wind Waker. Of course, she has more dungeons from the series that she enjoys, but the five dungeons that she listed are her favorite ones. She also stresses that this list is her own personal opinion and realizes that her viewers may not share the same opinion she does. The full list of dungeons can be found below, going from five to one…

The Game Grumps recently uploaded an animated short from part of their play through of Ocarina of Time. This short was made by Paul ter Voorde, and features Saria. If one is not familiar with the Game Grumps and any of their animated pieces, Arin and Danny usually turn the average cutscene, in this case, Link talking to Saria before he leaves the forest, into a ribald, sometimes darkly themed comedy sketch during their play through. An animated work focuses on that comedy sketch through a new medium…

Through the years, Zelda has been mostly kid friendly. After all, it is a Nintendo game. But that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been anything creepy to find in these innocent games. In my opinion, the whole concept of Majora’s Mask is creepy. Anyway, YouTuber ZeldaWars has taken it upon themselves to compile a list of the Top 10 Weirdest/Creepiest characters in the Zelda series…
