Termina, the setting of Majora’s Mask, certainly is a strange place. Through the eyes of Link, the player meets many people who open up to him and share their worldviews with them. Some characters display themselves more strongly through their actions instead of expressing themselves verbally. The Mayor of Clock Town, for example, seems to be rather easily pressured by the situation at hand, even though he doesn’t really say much during his initial cutscene with Link. Dr. Wily theorizes in an uploaded YouTube video that the Mayor may be feeling more pressure from other people, because he is actually hiding his corrupt nature from his citizens…

It’s been awhile since we had any new information on the NES Classic Edition, but that changes today as a newly translated radio interview with Nintendo of Canada’s Communication’s Manager, Julie Gagnon. She really opened up on a slew of features, including the fact there are three viewing modes while playing the game, as well as a new save system that sounds an awful lot like save states, a very convenient form of saving that is popular among emulation where you can save anywhere, at any time, and go back to that save should you die or make a mistake. The game will also feature the traditional long form save…

YouTuber AlbertReWesker has uploaded a new video of a familiar area from Ocarina of Time. This time, he gives new life to the entrance of the Fire Temple. As with his previous work, we can experience what Ocarina of Time would look like with realistic graphics and with more details. The video also is similar to his other uploads, in that it shows a darker and more sinister looking version of the temple. Also, it’s interesting to see how the music in the video gives it an even more ominous vibe…

Master Sword, a band that formed around the concept of creating cover albums for video games by giving familiar songs a heavy metal sound, is working on a Zelda-themed cover album named Shadow and Steel. The album currently has a Kickstarter page. There are to be nine songs on Shadow and Steel. The songs will be from multiple Zelda titles, including Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and A Link to the Past

Our friends in Japan are lucky. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Zelda series, Japan is getting a music collection that features music from all the different Zelda games throughout the years. There has been no confirmation on what the full track list is actually going to be, or how many songs are going to be featured. One can assume that many of the beloved and popular songs such as Zelda’s Lullaby and the many Overworld themes will be up for inclusion on this special collection..

Do not fear. It may be somewhat behind, but Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest is ready to go. Just to come clean a little bit, I was preoccupied all day yesterday getting ready for my friend’s wedding. After being awake for 19 hours and having marriage on the brain all day, I had the revelation that I should make this week’s contest wedding themed. It may be a bad idea, but we’ll find that out together. Join us inside, where you can also see the winners of last week’s contest: The Adventures of Lizalfos and Deku Scrub

Reddit user KevlarGorilla posted up some images of their excellent rendition of the Master Sword as intended for a female. On the whole, the design is leaner than the original Master Sword, presumably taking its cue from the swords Princess Zelda has wielded in the past. The creator has some nice details on the sword, including the quality of the build and some of the engraved text translations. Here are the full details…

The best thing about when somebody remixes your favorite music is that you don’t always get the same thing twice. I personally appreciate this for video game music since gaming musicians out there know that there’s always a way to make the same great song different every time. This even applies to what we’re listening to today as we get yet another unique remixed take on the original theme to The Legend of Zelda

There are so many items that are required and used throughout the

Zelda series that it’s kind of hard to keep track of the ones you want to own in real life. Some of these items I wouldn’t personally owning myself some day (I’m looking at you Wind Waker baton!). It’s nice to see that there are talented craftsman out there that agree with me on that as there are some pretty amazing Zelda item replicas out there. Take for instance this replica of one of the most important items from a Zelda Oracle game…

Twice a year we’re treated to one of the biggest speedrunning events in gaming: Games Done Quick. Over the course of the week long event, we’re treated to an ever-growing collection of speed runners who give up their time to tackle games and utterly destroy them through glitches and otherwise nefarious means. Some of the highlights of this event include the various The Legend of Zelda games…
