Commonwealth Realm set out to tackle a question that plagues Zelda lore. How did the kingdom of Hyrule come to be founded and solidified under the Royal Family? Commonwealth Realm argues that the Royal Family began with the series’ first chronological game, Skyward Sword, in which the goddess Hylia becomes the mortal girl Zelda. Given Zelda’s connection to guarding the sacred power of the Triforce and her divine bloodline, it would be logical for the people to make her into royalty. This evidence is canonical to the series, but it fails to answer the question of how the Royal Family gained its absolute power over the land.,,

Speed runners will often take their journey to new heights by using glitches to progress through a game faster. The Legend of Zelda is no different, as fans have been using glitches in the game for years. Recently, a new one has been discovered that will allow players to get to Princess Zelda and essentially beat the game in under four minutes. This glitch only works on version 1.1 of the Japanese Famicom version, so unfortunately most of us won’t be able to try this out ourselves…

Here’s an interesting Nintendo NX tidbit for you. The system currently has the least time between reveal and launch of any Nintendo console, as pointed out by NeoGAF user Empyrean Heaven. This would change if it were to be delayed, however. NX is scheduled to launch in March—that much we know. Let us assume it will, at the latest, launch on March 31st. If NX is revealed, at the earliest, tomorrow on the 24th of September…

Ubisoft apparently really likes the NX, whatever it ends up being. Today we learned that they have other games in development for it beyond Just Dance 2017, as they compared their potential offerings to things like ZombiU from the current generation. That’s not all though, as Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has gone on to explain a bit about why they are excited, giving some insight into the NX without unveiling what exactly it is (come on Nintendo, any day now!). Here is what he said in an exclusive interview with IGN…

I know we’re a little late on the draw here, but my college’s internet decided that it didn’t want this to go up today. Regardless, let’s all wish a Happy 127th Birthday to the Big N! Over the years, they’ve given so much and taken an equal amount from us. But let’s just remember all the things that they’ve given us and look forward to the hopefully bright future ahead!

There are certain game aspects that are almost expected in any and all new open-world games, and Breath of the Wild is no exception. Conventions in the series are changing, but usual open-world conventions are entering, as they are staples of sorts for the genre. These include fast travel points, non-linear exploration, cooking, customization equipment, and in line with today’s discussion, shifting weather conditions and respective clothing requirements. There are some that are worried that these closely related elements are…

There are a lot of questions surrounding Breath of the Wild. It seems as if each time we get new information, we come away with more questions. Some of these questions have easy answers, some of them don’t. Whereas some can ask about the role that amiibo will play in-game—a question with a simple answer—there are other questions that require a bit more thinking and, in this case, don’t actually have an answer to them. Also, since a lot of the answers to these questions have been short, I’m doing a few that I thought I needed to answer! Aside from Breath of the Wild questions, though, we did receive a very interesting Skyward Sword that I think everyone wants the answer to,

Also, I apologize for the break from this. I really intended it to be a consistent thing. Sadly, that didn’t happen and it’s all my fault! I know, you’re all terribly broken up about it, but worry not, both of you, for I have returned to write these answers to your burning questions!

Who could ever possibly forget Navi from Ocarina of Time? From start to finish this “helpful” fairy guided you on your grand adventure to save Hyrule, testing your sanity while she did it…

A YouTuber named Animebrother uploaded a Majora’s Mask animated short parody of Link’s journey through Termina. The video is English dubbed and this particular short details Deku Link’s first encounter with the Skull Kid after arriving in Clock Town. The video opens with Link telling Tatl that she looks better than Navi right before the Skull Kid reveals his plan to crush the town with the moon. The moon and the Skull Kid’s partnership is dysfunctional at best, but that aspect of the relationship allows there to be more humor added to Link’s partnership to Tatl…

The appearance of Wolf Link in Breath of the Wild raises some questions. The first one is this—how am I seeing two different Links in the same game? This isn’t Tri Force Heroes. However, the real question we need to know is if Wolf Link’s appearance is canon, and if so, will he tie into the story via some side quest? This would basically confirm Breath of the Wild being connected to the same timeline split as Twilight Princess. We already know they are connected somehow, even if it’s merely by development…
