Latest Updates

Since starting the project back in January, God of War’s Art Director Raf Grassetti has been hard at work crafting detailed reimaginings of every Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter. He has now released 18 portraits, two of which feature our very own leading lads: Link and the newly added Ganondorf. Grassetti went with the Twilight Princess inspired model for his Ganondorf redesign, and it’s certainly an imposing figure that would fit right into God of War. Grassetti’s newly unveiled illustrations…

Andy and Taylor are back taking in a bunch of fan questions. Should Nintendo remake the Oracle games? What about making that long rumored third game? Which Zelda has the best ending? Did Breath of the Wild’s high tech take away from the fantasy element? And do we actually believe the rumors of another Zelda game coming out in 2019? This weeks show is a light and breezy one, full of fun! You won’t wanna miss it! Podbean | iTunes…

Music is a defining feature of The Legend of Zelda series, so much so that it becomes its own character. The soundscape molds Hyrule around Link and his friends, giving character to those he interacts with and helps the player connect with them on an emotional level. The awe-striking music from The Legend of Zelda played a significant role in why I chose to pursue Bachelor’s Degree in music, and it is why I have decided to take an in-depth look at different tracks…

Are you ready, everyone? The latest Zelda Dungeon Caption Contest is happening right now! I couldn’t get a contest up in time for last week, but my original plan was to celebrate our Musical March Madness tournament with a musical Zelda screenshot. And after a bit of searching in Google Image Search, I present to you this Photoshop that celebrates both music and my favorite film of all time, Back to the Future. Our Last Contest: Ganondorf screamed his lungs…

It may be a little too soon to know if the Link’s Awakening remake for Switch will change any of the elements of the original game, but from what we’ve seen so fare it sure is fun to speculate! So far we’ve seen a tiny change to Kanalet Castle, giving it a ledge to drop off for easy exit. That alone got our minds racing! Join us as we discuss what else could be changed or added to the game….

Breath of the Wild is the first game in The Legend of Zelda series to introduce voice acting, specifically during cut-scenes. Reviewers lauded the sense of detail and immersion that came from the addition of voice acting as a welcome change to the franchise and fans have called out for even more in future games. This begs the question: which accents would you like to hear in the next Zelda game? And more specifically, is there anybody in particular that you would like to voice a…

Books and video games share a lot of traits with each other. From serving the role as a place to escape and experience worlds unlike any other, to having fanbases that are dedicated and die hard, the cultures of each format are very similar. So, what about that realm where they overlap? The Legend of Zelda series is no stranger to the graphic novel genre, but we’re talking more about traditional text here. Several famous video game franchises have broken…

Ladies and gentleman, my name is Kristen. Rosario. And I am your host for the CAVE OF TRIALS! Now before we talk a little about what’s to come for this week, let’s get into the winners of last week’s bouts. Let’s start off by announcing that STILL your NEW ERA Cave of Trials Champion, Midna! Her reign continues to rage on. As for our first ever Musical Battle, which had the accordion performing Kass take on the harp-strumming Medli in…

Link has donned many different outfits throughout the history of the Zelda franchise. However, Breath of the Wild arguably had the greatest variety to alter Link’s appearance. Its special themed outfits designed for each area, such as the Snowquill outfit and the Gerudo set, and its call-backs to previous apparel from other Zelda characters such as Tingle and Midna, which you got through Amiibo and the DLC, offered extra variety to the game. The special buffs, such as cold-immunity or heat-immunity, made the many different options…

Welcome back to another (early!) edition of Inspired By Zelda! This week on the docket… Aragami: Shadow Edition for the Nintendo Switch, with the original Aragami title also available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, developed and published by Lince Works. Now, I should probably state right away that this isn’t as “Zelda-y” as I kind of thought it would be. It would probably be more apt to say that this game caught my eye because the art style looked…
