Latest Updates

A little over a week after the Smash Bros. eShop sales, it has become clear why Link and his games were conspicuously absent from the festivities. Nintendo of Europe is going big on the way to its release of Hyrule Warriors, putting every Zelda game on the eShop on sale for the next couple of weeks. As if this weren’t enough, those who do purchase one of the titles during this period of time will be able to buy the upcoming crossover title for 10% off—or even the incredible A Link Between Worlds for…

We reported on the latest bug present in the new Hyrule Warriors update, but the update itself also added a few features as well… such as the ability to select what music you want to be playing during each stage. We have footage of this for an entire stage, along with a second video showing off a few more clips. It’s a really neat feature and something that is slowly becoming a normal thing in video games today. It would be really neat if they created a music player for the Wii U that lets supported games have their tracks playable in it. Nintendo, I’ll give you that idea for free…

Interested in helping write for the front page of Zelda Dungeon? With the pending release of Hyrule Warriors, we are looking for a few helping hands. In particular, we are looking to bring on board a few news writers, as well as writers to help with additional front-page projects we have in the pipeline. If you are interested in helping out, you can contact me directly on Skype to setup an interview. (Username: armochicken13). At this time there is no…

Here’s an odd one today. While the recent Hyrule Warriors update fixed a lot of things, it also opened up an entirely new bug that is at least far more entertaining than the old one. The original bug before the update saw characters equipping items and weapons from other characters, but still using their own moveset. Now not only do they equip other items from other characters, they use their movesets too! Instead of fixing the original bug, it seems to have gotten worse—worse in a way that is totally amazing…

So far we have seen that Link has access to a horse in Zelda U—presumably Epona—and can ride across an open field freely. As of now, we haven’t seen any other potential methods of transport; the footage we have seen is so minimal that the lack of information doesn’t matter because the possibilities for the game are, for the moment, endless. Hit the jump to see what may be in store!

Welcome back to the Voidcast! After an extra month hiatus, we’ll look at wat Nintendo needs to do to extend the play experience in a Zelda game. Optional content is a must a lot of the time, and Zelda is no stranger to it, but what else can be done with it to make players feel like coming back to replay a game? Check out the video after the jump!

Fans of the Zelda series express their love of the franchise in various ways; sometimes they make fanart or write fanfics, sometimes they make/join fansites, and sometimes they come up with cosplay for themselves or other fans. We saw an example of such a costume earlier today, showcasing Ravio and Link’s hats. It may only be the starting point of a full costume of the characters, but sometimes that’s all you need to show off your love for Zelda.

Stemming from that thought is today’s Daily Debate…

With under two weeks until the Japanese release of the 3DS iteration, the news about the next Smash Bros. game has been nonstop. While this week’s heavy hitters on that front included a new character reveal and the return of a favorite of ours here at ZI, Famitsu has still been churning out news about the characters who have already been revealed. This week, we got four scans featuring the fighters from the Pokémon franchise, as well as a large number of the creatures who will be brought into the fray via the Poké Ball and Master Ball items…

Hyrule Warriors is less than a month away, so it can be expected that Nintendo is going to try to market it a little more, making it a bit more of a household name among all Wii U owners. Meanwhile, the Japanese site had been up for quite a while now, opening back in May. With only 26 days left until the North American release of the game, Nintendo has finally put up the English site for the game. Hit…

Another week has gone by, which means that there is another week of Pic of the Day posts from Masahiro Sakurai. This has been a crazy weekend to say the least, with the official reveal of Shulk and the “not so official” one for Ganondorf. Amidst all of the chaos, we have tried to gather a weekly collection of Sakurai’s Pic of the Day. This week was more about the mechanics of the game than screenshots of the action. The details include information on the Fiend’s Scale, Spectator Mode, Challenges, and Character Customization…
