Ocarina of Time Any% Speedrun Record Broken Again by a 17 Year Old

Be warned, there is some some foul language in the video.
Ocarina of Time is not only considered one of the best games of all time, it’s also one of the single most popular games in the speed running community. The record has been set many times over the last handful of years, but when Cosmos set a run of 18:10, it was virtually deemed impossible to beat. He held that record for nearly 8 months before a new glitch (yes, new glitches are still be discovered) enabled a sub 18 minute run, first completed by Jodenstone.
Skater82297, a 17 year old boy (or, is he a man now?), just set the record to 17:47. His next goal is to go below 17:40. In the video above, he stays mostly silent during the run, keeping his intense focus. He begins to breath very heavily when facing off against Ganon, because two prior runs when he was ahead, he actually died during the fight – and in this run he is literally a hit away from dying yet again. Once he completes the world record run, he breaks down emotionally in fits of joy. He may be just 17, but the amount of precision, execution, and time it takes to complete such a record is mind numbing.
Of course, many you may still cry foul that this is a glitch run and thus, invalid. Keep in mind there are many different speed running categories, including runs that don’t allow glitches. In fact, the last 100% Glitchless run record was set back in march of this year, and a glitchless run (just beating the game, not a 100%) was done in back in April. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for other non Any% records set in the future – as I honestly feel all should get equal recognition.
