Although here at Zelda Dungeon our focus is to bring you the latest from the worlds that revolve around what we believe to be one of the best video game franchises in history, The Legend of Zelda. There has been occasion that we have broken from that focus to bring you the latest news from Nintendo, as was the case this past July when we brought you the devastating news that President and CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata had passed away. Today, we have learned that Nintendo has now named a new President to oversee the company’s future. Tatsumi Kimishima has now been named, President of Nintendo. At age 65 this is not the first time we hear Kimishima’s name, he previously held the title of Director and CEO of Nintendo of America from 2002 – 2006. Prior to that he was the Director for the Pokemon Company and most recently he has been the Managing Director and the head of Human Resources for Nintendo of America. Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda will continue to hold key roles within the company, with the new restructuring their titles have now changed to “Creative Fellow” and “Technology Fellow” respectively.
How do you feel this change in leadership and restructuring could impact Nintendo and therefore Zelda in the future? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
