Nintendo Digital Event on June 16th, Nintendo World Championships 2015, and More!

Nintendo released a video announcing their E3 plans today, just like they did last year with Reggie Fils-a-mech. This year featured Reggie himself heavily again, but they changed up the format to unveil something I feel like no one expected. Sure, they announced another Nintendo Digital Event on June 16th at 9 am PT, and yeah they are doing more Nintendo Treehouse live stream – all par for the course and expected. They even announced another Best Buy limited time demo opportunity, this time for Mario Maker. You know what wasn’t expected? The return of the Nintendo World Championships. Yes, for the first time in 25 years, they have officially returned.

Qualifying rounds begin on the 30th of this month, but they haven’t released full details yet. They are teaming up with Best Buy for the qualifiers, so stay tuned. Be sure to watch the video above for some good laughs. If nothing else, stick around for the ending as it is totally worth it.
