Nintendo Announces Tears of the Kingdom Special Edition OLED Model Switch Console

We received a lot of juicy information during today’s Tears of the Kingdom gameplay demonstration. Zelda fans everywhere were introduced to some of the new abilities and mechanics we can expect to be utilizing, accompanied by Eiji Aonuma’s detailed explanations. The game looks awesome! Toward the end of the demo, we saw some info that will especially excite collectors and super-fans. Nintendo has announced a special edition Tears of the Kingdom OLED Model Switch, as well as a special edition Pro Controller and carrying case!

While the controller and carrying case will release on Tears of the Kingdom‘s launch date of May 12th, the special edition OLED Switch will be available on April 28th. Emblazoned upon this special edition is the recognizable design pattern from the upcoming game as well as the iconic Hylian Crest.

Nintendo confirmed pricing details via press release. The Tears of the Kingdom Special Edition OLED Model Switch will retail at $359.99 USD. This will not include a copy of the game. The special edition Pro Controller will be priced at $74.99 USD and the carrying case will be priced at $24.99 USD. All of these items are now available for pre-order at local retailers.

 

The appearance of a Tears of the Kingdom-themed Switch system had been rumored for some time. It’s nice to finally get some confirmation on this, and I’m sure collectors will be very excited.
