Nintendo 3DS Price Cut Surges Ocarina of Time 3D Sales
Posted on August 23 2011 by Mases Hagopian
Earlier this month the Nintendo 3DS received a significant price cut, dropping all the way down to $169.99 here in the United States. Similar price cuts around the world have caused the Nintendo 3DS to spike in sales and in turn, have caused Ocarina of Time 3D sales to increase. It’s no secret that Ocarina of Time 3d is the premier title on the handheld console and the first must-have game to date. Thus, every time a store sells a few Nintendo 3DS handhelds, an Ocarina of Time 3D sale is soon to follow. Shown below are the recent Top 10 UK games sold in the week ending August 20th.
Zumba Fitness retains its number one spot atop the list, while Ocarina of Time 3D jumps up from #13 from the previous week. Xenoblade Chronicles is the only other Nintendo title to crack the list. You may have recognized the title as it one of three games in the Operational Rainfall movement, which spawned the Operation Moonfall movement to bring Majora’s Mask to the Nintendo 3DS.
1. ZUMBA FITNESS
2. LEGO PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN
3. CARS 2
4. THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME 3D
5. FIFA 11
6. LEGO HARRY POTTER: YEARS 1-4
7. XENOBLADE CHRONICLES
8. DIRT 3
9. BRINK
10. L.A. NOIRE
Ocarina of Time 3D received a 59% boost in sales from the previous week which caused it to jump 9 spots in the charts. The Nintendo 3DS is geared to have a steady flow of hardware in the coming months, so I’m anticipating Ocarina of Time 3D will remain in the Top 40 for quite some time. It might fall in and out of the Top 10, especially with other high quality Nintendo 3DS titles coming out in the next few months.
