Monday Comic Corner – It’s a Secret To Everybody

For the first time on Monday Comic Corner we have a comic from Dorkly, CollegeHumor’s sister site about video games. This comic, as you might have guessed, deals with Sheik and Link from Ocarina of Time, except it takes Link’s wonder about the true identity of Sheik in a little different direction. As far as Link is concerned, Sheik is a guy, and Link may be having some mixed feelings about that.

Well, that saved Link some explaining to do back at Kokiri Forest, and perhaps an awkward conversation with Sheik/Zelda. But now that Link has come to terms with who he really is, what’s he going to do now that it turns out the Sheik disguise was just a ruse? And even after this, Princess Ruto is still going to give him a hard time for not marrying her.

It would have been interesting to see what would happen if Link gave Zelda the letter while she was still disguised as Sheik. My guess is that Zelda would have been wise enough to not come out of character, and Sheik did have a way of disappearing anyway, but there’s always the chance she would be so surprised that Ganondorf would have been alerted and Hyrule doomed for eternity.

And where does that fit in the timeline? I’m not sure the community would be prepared for such a split. The three directional split that occurs in Ocarina of Time was already strange enough.
