Mario Easter Egg is New and Improved in Ocarina of Time 3D
Posted on June 05 2011 by Jacob Green
As we well know Ocarina of Time 3D is not exactly a port or a re-make by normal conventions. Here’s more proof: In the garden scene where Link first meets young Princess Zelda there used to be portraits of Mario, Bowser, Luigi and Peach that could be seen by looking through the window. In Ocarina of Time 3D we instead find some warp pipes and blocks that are characteristic of the Mario games. These pictures even show a classic Super Mario World background with which we are all familiar.
Additionally, check out that new arched window! It reflect a more masonry-castle aesthetic and it really shows off the new textures that are in the game. The mullions also have added detail as shown by the bolts that were missing from the original game’s windows. Over all I approve the changes made here and I’m looking forward to all the updates to the classic game. Be sure to check out additional views of this new content after the jump.
What do you think of the change? It’s quite clever in my opinion. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
