Majora’s Mask-Themed Portable Nintendo 64

YouTube team 2010clarky has uploaded their latest creation: a portable Nintendo 64. Not only is this design even more portable than what we generally see, but it is adorned with a Majora’s Mask theme, including the famous styled “Z” that has been present from day one. Though the color scheme of this “Mini 64” is rather basic, the overall design seems solid and the gameplay appears to be as smooth as the standard home console. Hit the jump for some more details!
Firstly, here is the original video.
According to the video, this is actually version two of their portable Nintendo 64 designs. It is 25% thinner than their previous prototype, and features dual Z-triggers, a volume wheel, and a cooling fan. Additionally, the cartridge is loaded from the top, whereas in their previous version, the slot was in the back. Finally, the loading slot has a solid backing to keep the cartridge in its place while playing. For the gameplay, you will of course have to check out the video, where they demo none other than Majora’s Mask!
My first impressions of this device, I’ll admit, were not great. I thought it was bulky and not something I would use at all, but after watching their video I changed my mind. The button layout and controls look easy to use and the screen decent to play on. And when you condense the video to that size, it looks pretty sharp. If it were reasonably priced, I could see myself buying and using this despite it’s minor flaws.
