Majora’s Mask Japanese Commercials
Posted on November 14 2010 by Mases Hagopian
As with most Zelda titles, when Majora’s Mask was released, it was accompanied by an ad campaign in both Japan and various places across the world. There were multiple Japanese commercials that came out and two of them are embedded right here in this post. The first one actually makes Majora’s Mask out to be quite a creepy game. It shows the actual Majora’s Mask tormenting a young man while he is playing the game in his apartment complex. The emphasis of this first commercial is on the masks, and the transformation masks in particular.
The second of the trailers again focuses around this same young man in his apartment complex. However, this one puts the emphasis on the moon as opposed to the mask. It shows the moon closing in on his apartment complex while he continues to play the game. I’m not sure if playing a video game would be what I’d be doing if a giant moon was about to come crashing down on top of my house, but apparently that is the message here in this commercial.
A third Japanese commercial was also released, but it is just a 15-second version of the second commercial shown above. Nevertheless, all three commercials have been added to our Zelda Commercials page here at the website. Be sure to check them out and let us know what you think by posting in the comments below!
