Ever since the Nintendo Direct announcing Majora’s Mask 3D and the Majora’s Mask-themed New Nintendo 3DS XL, fans have been anticipating the arrival of the Zelda series’ second 3D remake with excitement. The game seems to be especially popular in Japan, where Majora’s Mask 3D sold over 230,000 copies during launch week.
Majora’s Mask 3D has a reported 83.47% sell-through rate in Japan. With this kind of momentum, Majora’s Mask 3D is on track to catch up in sales with A Link Between Worlds, which has sold roughly 430,000 units.
Majora’s Mask 3D‘s success could be credited to the fact that it is a remake. The gaming community already knows that Majora’s Mask is hailed as one of the best games in the Zelda series, and it is very enticing to those such as myself who never got to play the original on the Nintendo 64. Why do you think Majora’s Mask 3D has been so successful?
