Lon Lon Ranch Brought Back to Life in New Breath of the Wild Mod

Those who have trekked through the land of Hyrule in Breath of the Wild may have noticed a deserted farm area not too far from Hyrule Castle. Known as the Ranch Ruins, this location, of course, bears a striking resemblance to the well-known Lon Lon Ranch. First appearing in Ocarina of Time, this location is not only the home of Talon and Malon, but it is where you first meet Link’s iconic steed Epona. While we know the Calamity had something to do with its destruction in Breath of the Wild, its presence hasn’t stopped some people from thinking, “What if things were different?”
Modder Furosukki (AKA Furo6448) has taken it upon themselves to build a fully-realized Lon Lon Ranch in Breath of the Wild. As you can see in Karin Miku’s video, Furosukki’s attention to detail is pretty spot on. Not only is it not just a copy and paste of familiar Lon Lon Ranch landmarks, but this version actually feels like it belongs in the game. The accompanied buildings appear to be more fleshed out than expected, the windmill has been reborn, and the once-desecrated Ranch Ruins is sprawling with wandering horses.
From what you see in the video above, there are some bugs to work out. Furosukki has stated on GameBanana that the collision detection and adding in more NPC’s are items they still need to work on. If you want to try this Breath of the Wild Lon Lon Ranch mod out for yourself, then head on over to the official GameBanana’s page for this mod.
What do you think of Furosukki’s Breath of the Wild mod? Will you be trying it out for yourself? Let us know in the comments below!
