Live Stream Aftermath
Posted on August 29 2010 by Mases Hagopian
Thanks to everybody that came out and watched our live stream today. Overall it was quite a successful playthrough of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. I ended up completing the game in just about 6 hours… while also reaching a death count of around 200. (We actually stopped keeping track of the death count at around 25… but a few hours later somebody just popped in and said 200 and we counted from there). Thanks to the folks over at Zelda Informer, LegendofZelda.com, The Hylia, and everybody else who spread the word and promoted our live stream. In the near 7 hours that we were online, including the short post-party, there were 10,000 viewers that had clicked play at some point and we had a steady audience between 300 to 350 viewers at all times.
I have to say that I really enjoyed playing the game, even if it is notoriously viewed as a Zelda abomination. I plan on making a full fledged impressions video blog sometime in the next week to discuss my views of the game. Perhaps sometime in the distant future I may even cover the game in the form of complete game content here at the site. Nevertheless all that is still in the distant future as there are other games that take priority. For those of you that watched the live stream, what did you think? Did the game live up to its awful reputation? Did you enjoy the live commentary? Is there something we can improve upon for future live streams? Any comments and constructive criticisms would be much appreciated, so let us know by posting in the comments below!
