Nintendo’s Virtual Console service has been lacking on the Wii U. They usually only release one game a week, and many times those games are forgettable experiences. If you’re a European user, however, this week’s offerings might get you excited.

While I personally expected this to hit the eShop two weeks ago, when A Link Between Worlds came out, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is finally becoming available to European Wii U owners. The game will be released on December 12 for £5.49, or £1.49 if you bought it back on the Wii’s Virtual Console.

There’s no listing for an American release just yet, but Nintendo has done well about releasing eShop games simultaneously in every region, so it’s a safe bet that this core title will be available on our shores this Thursday as well.
