One of the best things about Breath of the Wild‘s cooking mechanic was that it gave cooking-savvy Zelda fans dozens of cool recipes to replicate. Skilled chefs like Rosanna Pansino have been sharing their steps for making near flawless recreations, much to the delight of incompetent chefs like myself. Recently, Pansino released a video outlining how to make the Fruitcake from the “A Royal Recipe” sidequest. It’s a perfect treat for the upcoming holiday season, so check it out!

This video was so fun! Pansino seemed genuinely excited about the recipe and for good reason because the cake looks nearly identical to the one in-game. Pansino has made a number of other Zelda related dishes during her ongoing Nerdy Nummies series which you can find here.

These are the ingredients for the Fruitcake:

  • (6) egg yolks
  • (6) egg whites
  • (1) cup sugar
  • (½) cup water
  • (½) cup oil
  • (1 ½) teaspoons vanilla extract
  • (1) teaspoon almond extract
  • (2) cups all purpose flour
  • (2) teaspoons baking powder
  • (1) teaspoon baking soda
  • (½) teaspoon salt
  • (¼) cup sugar
  • Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, oranges, limes and honeydew melon

What do you guys think of this recipe? Are there any other Zelda recipes you’d like to see Pansino recreate? Are you planning on making this or any other Breath of the Wild recipes this holiday season? Share your thoughts in the comments!
