February 21st marks the 35th anniversary of the release of The Legend of Zelda. While we are all eagerly waiting an announcement from Nintendo on new Zelda content to mark the anniversary, we here at Zelda Dungeon have our own celebration planned.
On the weekend of February 20th and 21st, we will be hosting a 35-hour live stream on our Twitch Account. Beginning at 10am EST on the 20th, I will be streaming a gauntlet of Zelda speedruns. Beginning with The Legend of Zelda for the NES, I will chronologically play through the first nine titles, all the way through The Wind Waker HD.
All in all, I will play through all of the following games:
–The Legend of Zelda
–The Adventure of Link
–A Link to the Past
–Link’s Awakening DX
–Ocarina of Time 3D
–Majora’s Mask 3D
–Oracle of Ages
–Oracle of Seasons
–The Wind Waker HD
Each game will be played in a glitchless speedrun fashion, played one after another, with a short break in between. All together, there will be an estimated 35-hours of gameplay here, spread across about 39-hours of time, with breaks throughout between games. While I play through the games, I will be joined by various members of the Zelda Dungeon team, as well as expert speedrunners on some of the various titles.
This surely is the most ambitious project I’ve ever personally taken on, regarding live streaming. I’m a bit anxious and nervous, but I hope you come and join me on this celebratory journey. The fun starts on Saturday February 20th at 10am EST over at our Twitch Channel.
