Jesse’s Monday Music Box #3 – Epic Battles, Lasers, Dubstep, and Zelda?

When I first took over the privilege of doing the Monday Music Box, I told myself that I would make it different from the average remix or cover. While stumbling across the black hole that is the internet, I came across something that just blew me away and was far from average. Not being a fan of dubstep though, I was hesitant, but with the title “BE AWESOME! – Epic Battle /// Laser / Dubstep / Zelda ///” who wouldn’t want to click it? To my surprise the song, Ephixia’s remix of Saria’s Song, wasn’t bad at all, far from the dubstep that I’ve been used to hearing lately, but it was the video and not the song that had my jaw dropping. Navi flying through the Television and leading a fellow Zelda fan through the woods to battle a 40 ft fire breathing Ganon with lasers will do that to a person though.

The way the video matched the song perfectly definitely gets it three thumbs up in my book. Like I said, I’m not a fan of dubstep, but I know a lot of Zelda fans are and I’m not one to deprive someone of an awesome experience just because I’m not personally interested. However, the fact that it is a Zelda remix and has an awesome video to go along with it more than makes up for the genre. What are your thoughts on the genre and Zelda remixes within it?
