Iwata Asks Official Translation With New Details!!
Posted on October 26 2011 by Jesse McCarty
Yesterday Iwata released volume 2 to his newest Iwata Asks segments on his official site. It contained a ton of new info about the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and even included a video of never before seen gameplay. As always the interview was first released in Japanese and we struggled to get all the important details translated so we could keep our readers up to date on the newest Zelda news. Well today, the official translation from Nintendo was released along with some new translated videos and we can finally fill you in on all the new juicy details we found!
The official Nintendo translation really provides a ton of new info we couldn’t properly translate and clarifies on some stuff that may have seemed a bit confusing in the rough translation we provided. We will be going over several new details and showing a great new translated video of Fi. If your interested in finding out exactly what you have missed out on and aren’t afraid of spoilers be sure to make the jump.
- You can CATCH birds in the game with the bug net as well.
- Asuke was in charge of development for the area in which you fight the imprisoned.
- There are all kinds of bugs, like grasshoppers and cicadas, dragonflies and butterflies, unicorn beetles and stag beetles and mantises. There are different kinds of birds, too. It hardly ever shows up, but there’s a blue bird, too.
- This is how the idea for the imprisoned came to be: Aonuma tasked Fujibayashi with making “A giant enemy attacks one place and you have to do something about it.”, then Fujibayashi told Asuke “There’s a giant boss that tries to force its way to a destination. I want you to come up with a way of holding it back.”
- You are not meant to defeat the imprisoned just hold it back.
- The Imprisoned is gigantic, you’ll have to fight your way up by propelling yourself higher with the sailcloth and holes that shoot air up, then you get ahead of the boss, jump onto it, and fight.
- The silent realm was based on the concept of a tag like game.
- After targeting an enemy and calling Fi forth she’ll tell you about that enemy, this is what they call Fi captioning.
- Fi often says funny things about the target.
- Imprisoned is gigantic, you’ll have to fight your way up by propelling yourself higher with the sailcloth and holes that shoot air up, Then you get ahead of the boss, jump onto it, and fight.
- The Big Boss in the Sealed Grounds does show up several times.
- They refer to the Big Boss as the Sealed one.
Asuke: The Legend of Zelda has always been that way until now. But the last boss that appears in the Sealed Grounds—the development staff calls him the Big Boss—shows up several times.
Iwata: So when you talk about holding back the Big Boss, that’s like sealing it.
Asuke: That’s right. So the Big Boss’s name is The Sealed One. You can seal it but never totally defeat it. Link confronts that Big Boss several times, but the way you fight changes as the story progresses. But that’s…
Iwata: A secret. (laughs)
Asuke: Right! (laughs)
With Skyward Sword less than a month away I can’t imagine the hype and amount of details being released being higher than it is already, but I’m sure as the date drawls closer we will be receiving what will seem like as an endless flood of details. Gathering all of this info and mixing it together with everything previously known it seems as if not much more can be revealed before we know absolutely everything this game has to offer. Which brings me to my final thoughts!
How do you feel about this flood of new info being released? Are you trying to avoid the spoilers or are you spending every second learning everything possible?
