Hyrule Warriors Won’t Feature Cooperative Online Multiplayer

We reported yesterday that there would be some online multiplayer in Hyrule Warriors, and as of right now that is still highly possible. However, the multiplayer won’t be of the cooperative kind like you can play locally. This defeats a report made by a representative at an expo in Paris, France last month. So, what sort of multiplayer, if there is any, could we see?
Yesterday the hint was that there was a specific battle in adventure mode that let us play online. This could mean that there is still competitive multiplayer, where someone is playing as the bad guy and someone else as the good guy trying to accomplish goals against each other, and whoever accomplishes them first wins. Traditionally in Dynasty Warrior games, there are multiplayer modes that allow folks to play as the enemy characters. Such a mode would take advantage of this possibility. This is all pure speculation.
What do you think? Will the game have any sort of online multiplayer? If it does… what kind could it be?
