Nothing is official until Nintendo says so, worse yet, these figure aren’t even guaranteed to be remotely close to what the npd or other services tell us soon enough. Still, while not confirmable in the slightest, it does suggest the game has not sold well during it’s first week on the market. Often criticized site Vgchartz has some estimated figures in for the launch of Hyrule Warriors and it doesn’t look to be too great. According to their estimates the game sold 99,165 units (only really behind two other games for the week). While these aren’t horrible figures, the game has seen significant drop offs in sales post launch in practically every region.

This paints a bleak future for the game, where it now sits at roughly 300k units (again, an estimate). I highly doubt the exact figures, should Nintendo choose to share them, will paint a better picture. Reality is if the game had really good sales, Nintendo would have told us by now. I wouldn’t be surprised if the game tops out at 500k globally, which I doubt was the target figure for the game. I would bet they were hoping to at least break 1 million in sales despite not many Wii U games doing so. Of course, maybe I am looking at this all wrong. What do you think?
