Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Skyrockets to Highest Selling “Warriors” Game Ever
Posted on November 24 2020 by John Piland
Not even a week after its release, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is the best selling Warriors title of all time!
This comes as the game breaks over 3 million copies sold, according to a statement by Koei Techmo to Japanese publication Famitsu. This is the first time a Warriors title has managed to break this many copies sold, setting a new record for the franchise.
This information certainly comes as a boon or the Zelda franchise’s bragging rights, and goes to show the power The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has as a marketing device. The game isn’t even a week old yet, so it should be fun to watch how the sales grow over the coming months and into the Holiday season.
Are you surprised to see Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity sell so well in so short a time? Are you proud to have a Zelda game make such achievement? Let us know in the comments below!

John has been a Zelda fan for over 10 years now and is proud to say the series has had a major impact on his life (and wallet). After years of going to Zelda Dungeon for guides or the latest news on the series, John achieved their dream when they joined the writing team in 2019; John can hardly believe how long it’s been. A librarian, he loves meticulously arranging his library of Zelda games and collectibles. After what felt like an eternity of waiting for Tears of the Kingdom, John looks forward to the future of the Zelda franchise with enthusiasm, whether that’s the upcoming movie, a new spin-off/remake, or the next big game.
