How to beat A Link to the Past within three minutes

Even though A Link to the Past was released in the early 1990s and was the third Zelda game released, it has a huge fan base and a lot of people still claim it to be the greatest Zelda game ever released. I’ve only played the game once on the Game Boy Advanced and that was several years ago. I was playing it while visiting a friend and needed to complete it before I left as it was his game so had to rush through it a bit but I just about managed it and, although I certainly wouldn’t say ‘best Zelda game we ever’, it was really good and was in my top 5 Zelda games until I played The Minish Cap. However, after spending hours struggling through it, it turns out there is a way to complete the game within 3 minutes!
Take the jump to find out how!
It’s a pretty cool glitch and while it does mean you miss out 99.9% of the game, it’ll make a fun party trick if no-one is able to juggle chainsaws that are on fire. The problem with a lot of glitches is that they can be easy to mess up, but with this one, even if things don’t go according to plan, you can quite easily get back on track rather than having to start all over again. Having not played the game for years I’m not sure how much of it they cut out from the video so can’t tell how accurate the ‘under 3 minutes’ side of things is but it’s certainly not going to be much more than that.
It’s a shame the glitch doesn’t seem to work on the GameBoy Advance version of the game as I would like to give it a try if I can borrow the game off my friend again. It would also give me a chance to play the game properly and explore a bit more so maybe I’ll be able to see why people think so highly of it.
What do you think of the glitch? Have you tried this or any other glitches before? Tell us all in the comments below.
