Hollywood blacksmith creates real Master Sword

Hollywood prop maker and blacksmith Man at Arms has been recreating a large number of various weapons and items from movies and video game series. This week he updated his YouTube channel AWE me with a video of his latest project, creating a replica of the master sword from the Legend of Zelda. In the video he goes over the whole process from designing it, casting the hilt and pommel out of bronze, to finishing those minute details such as the texture on the handle and the amber gems on the hilt. After it is complete we get to see it in action slicing through just about anything they can get their hands on.

I have both collected and made a few props from the series myself and of course the master sword being the most well known item from the games gets a lot of attention from the fans of replicas. I have seen a lot of recreations both professional and privately made over the years and these guys did an amazing job of grabbing all the details and getting it right. Majority of the time there are a few things they did not do or skipped. Even the replica I own is not 100% accurate. Overall I think they did an amazing job of this.
