Handmade Wooden 8-bit Link

Artist and Zelda fan Galewhale recently posted a few images of their latest creation, a carved replica of 8-bit Link from the original Legend of Zelda. The piece is a replica of classic Link triumphantly holding up the triforce above his head as he has been known to do whenever he receives a piece or after defeating Ganon. The piece is cut from wood and painted on both front and back perfectly capturing the look of the original hero of Hyrule.

This looked like a fun little project, and I do like to see classic Link recreations as well as anything 8-bit that people make. I imagine cutting this out and keeping everything perfectly square much have been a pain at times. I thought it was cool that the back was painted as well, normally most people would just paint the front and leave the rest. Now I am wondering if there are many other 8-bit Zelda creations from Galewhale. I’ll have to keep an eye out for them in the future.
So what do you think? Do you like the statue? Think he did a good job creating it? Let us know in the comments below.
