Great Fairy’s Fountain Hip-Hop Remix
Posted on August 15 2015 by Alexis S. Anderson
I’ve always thought that the scantily clad Great Fairies of Ocarina of Time didn’t quite match the serene and pure beauty of the Great Fairy Fountains, but that may have had everything to do with the Fountains’ theme. Composer Alan Gee took the Great Fairy’s Fountain Theme and turned it on its head by giving it a sick beat and remixing it hip-hop style! While the song still sounds traditionally peaceful, it gives the Fountain a more urban atmosphere– far more befitting of those video-vixen Fairies. Give the remix a listen after the jump.
A tastefully done remix from a talented musician. Alan Gee is a bassist and composer who is currently working on the soundtrack for a game called “Breeze in the Clouds” which is being produced by SrBilyon M. M. Harris. In addition to this Great Fairy’s Fountain remix, Gee has remixed Sheik’s Theme as well as a number of other video game, anime, and Disney songs. He also shares some of his original music on his channel.
What did you think of Alan Gee’s remix? Do you prefer this version to the original? Are there any other Zelda songs you’d like to hear hip-hop remixed? Let us know in the comments!
